1. Layers and Legends

Toggle Layers and Legend - The Map Viewer has a right hand panel that shows either the Legend or the available Layers for each map. On the right is a set of tools. Simply click on the legend tool icon (red arrow is pointing to it) to make either of these two panels visible.

To make a layer active, click on the radio button next to the layer of the layer panel or simply click on the layer name to automatically activate it. A black dot in the radio button will indicate which layer is active. To make layers visible, click on the check box next to the layer; a check mark will appear and the map will automatically refresh and activate that layer. Remember that this data is layered, therefore to see a layer at the bottom of the list, the layers above it must be turned off. To turn a layer off, simply click on the check box to remove the check mark. This will also automatically activate the layer, so make sure to go back and re-activate the layer you are working with if necessary.

Make sure to 'Refresh Map' every time you turn a layer off or on!
